Ethiopian New Crop Coffee Cupping

£0.00

Daye Bensa new crop coffee cupping, with Coffee Legends, at The Independent Coffee Lab.

Introducing Daye Bensa Coffee, an Ethiopian company started by two coffee producing brothers, Assefa and Mulugeta Dukamo, in 1996. Their journey started with a single person’s step, it was long and tiring, however with determination and zeal they overcame the turmoils to reach where they are now. With 75 washing stations, 11 dry mills, export facilities and a coffee cleaning plant, the team are pioneering Ethiopian coffee. They went on to begin exporting in 2006 and invested in automation in 2018. This lead to then placing 7th in the 2020 Cup of Excellence programme, 8th in 2021 and 2nd in 2022.

Enter Atrie Weno, the founder of Coffee Legends. Atrie has over 10 years of experience in the coffee industry including working extremely close with Daye Bensa coffee, where we spent a lot of time as deputy general manager. He is driven by a mission to bridge the gap between producers and roasters by offering traceable Ethiopian coffee whilst fostering community development and promoting sustainability. Atrie is also a long-time of The Cupping Directives and we are so happy to be a small part of his journey with Coffee Legends.

Join us at The Independent Coffee Lab on Wednesday 19th March from 3-5pm to meet Atrie and sample some Cup of Excellence lots as well as fresh crop from Daye Bensa Coffee.

This is a professional event for roasters to sample new crop coffee, however tickets are open to everyone with an interest.
